Join us for the 3rd Annual FunFitness Dance™ Exercise Event on Saturday, June 10 at 11:00 am at Camp Widgiwagan. It’s a day of fun at Music City’s largest synchronized dance exercise promoting health and wellness and a day to help spread awareness on diabetes prevention. R&B Music Sensation Tony Terry will be there to cheer us on to his hit remake single, "Family Reunion” as hundreds of participants dance in a show of solidarity to help combat the 7th leading cause of death in the U.S. The event is free and open to the public with cooking demos & samples, refreshments, free convenient parking, free adult and kids activities to include zipline, water park, airnasium and much more. Music City’s largest synchronized dance exercise promoting health and fitness is going to be a day full of excitement. DJ Casper will make a guest appearance to perform his international hit single- The Cha Cha Slide as hundreds of participants dance in a show of solidarity to raise awareness on the importance of diabetes prevention. The 2016 theme is This Is DiabetesTM. Learn about real-life stories of friends, families and neighbors managing the day-to-day triumphs and challenges of the disease. Join as we salute the 29 million Americans with diabetes—as well as their loved ones—to raise awareness and to create a sense of urgency about this growing public health crisis. Don’t miss the Step Out to Stop Diabetes® and take steps to improve our health! Participants are changing the future and making a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. You can, too! The Annual Walk consists of a 1.5 mile or 3.0 walk through Centennial Park. After you cross the finish line, you can join the celebration of American Diabetes Association along with music, healthy snacks, kids’ activities, local entertainment, a health and wellness village and most importantly, the company of those who truly understand the impact of diabetes. Team Registration is open at 8:00 a.m., Registration is open at 8:30 a.m. and the Walk begins at 9:30 a.m. There is no registration fee for the Step Out Walk, but all participants are encouraged to fundraise on behalf of the nearly 750,000 Tennesseans living with diabetes! Walkers who raise more than $100 will earn a 2016 Step Out –shirt. Once you register, you’ll be given your very own Step Out Center webpage and will have access to lots of tools to help you fundraise. You’ll be able to customize the page with your reason for walking, send emails to ask others to join you or donate, and even download Facebook and Smartphone apps for online fundraising ease. And of course, your Step Out Specialists (Association staff) will be available to help all along the way!
